Choosing a Hostinger VPS provides you with a high-performance environment tailored to your project’s specific needs. Whether you are a new user or looking to gain more control over your current hosting environment, you can easily acquire a VPS through the hPanel or the Hostinger website.
On Hostinger, all settings—such as installing and updating the OS and applications, creating a DNS zone, setting up a mail server, and installing SSL—are done manually. You can rely on Kodee, our AI assistant, to provide step-by-step guidance for these tasks.
If a VPS is the best option for you, you can find all available plans here: VPS Hosting. To explore managed hosting options, feel free to check our web, cloud, or agency plans. How to purchase a VPS hosting plan
Start with VPS hosting
If you are initiating a new project and do not currently have a VPS, you can start a new subscription following these steps:
- Select a plan: Visit the Hostinger VPS Hosting page and choose a hosting plan that matches your resource requirements.
- Complete the checkout: Sign in to your account or create a new one, choose a payment method, and finalize the transaction.
- Set up your VPS: Once the purchase is complete, go to the VPS section of your hPanel and click Setup. Follow the instructions to choose your server location and operating system.
Upgrading to VPS
If you are currently using a web, cloud or agency hosting plan and require more resources or root access, you can switch your project to a VPS.
Because VPS and shared hosting use different server architectures, automatic upgrades are not supported. You can manually move your data by following these steps:
- Back up your data: Download your website files and databases from your current hosting plan.
- Purchase a VPS: Follow the purchasing steps mentioned above to get a new server.
- Migrate your content: Upload your files and databases to the new VPS.
- Transfer emails (optional): Export your email data if needed.
Since a VPS is a private environment, only you will have the required access to complete these steps. For a comprehensive walkthrough of the migration process, refer to our guide on How to migrate a website to VPS.
After completing your purchase and setup, your server will be visible in the VPS section of the hPanel. From there, you can manage your resources, install Docker templates, and perform all the actions needed to get your project up and running.
