How to use calendar invitation cards in Hostinger Webmail

Manage calendar invitations and external meeting links directly inside your Hostinger Webmail interface.

Updated 13 hours ago

When you receive an email with a calendar invitation (.ics file), Hostinger Webmail automatically displays a calendar card. This card allows you to view event details at a glance without opening a separate application or downloading the file.

Before you start

  • You must have an active Hostinger Email account.
  • The incoming invitation must contain a valid .ics file format attachment to generate a card.

Identify calendar emails

Emails containing calendar invitations are marked with a calendar badge in two locations:

  1. Email list – Appears next to the email subject line to help you locate invitations quickly.
  2. Email details header – Displays at the top of the open email pane and provides a summary of the event.

Understand event status indicators

The calendar card uses color-coded indicators to show the current state of an event:

  • 🟢 Invited – A new event invitation is received.
  • 🟡 Updated – The event details, such as time or location, were changed by the organizer.
  • 🔴 Cancelled – The event was cancelled by the organizer.

If the invitation includes a meeting URL (such as a video call link), Hostinger Webmail verifies if the link belongs to a trusted provider, such as Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.

When a link points to an unrecognized host, an external badge appears on the card. This security feature helps you make an informed decision before clicking external URLs.

Address organizer email address warnings

Some invitations, such as those sent from Microsoft Outlook by an organizer without an official alias, may contain placeholder email addresses.

When Hostinger Webmail detects a placeholder address, a warning message appears on the calendar card to notify you that a reply cannot be successfully delivered to that specific address.

NOTES

  • Use bullet points for the content, even for a single item.
  • If a placeholder email warning is shown on the card, you cannot accept or decline the event directly because the organizer’s email address is unreachable.

You can now manage your event invitations and review security alerts natively within your email interface.
