Updated 3 weeks ago

The Hermes desktop app includes a Remote Gateway feature that connects your local desktop application to a Hermes Agent instance running on a Hostinger VPS. This setup ensures your Hermes Agent runs continuously in the background, even when your local computer is turned off.

Before you start

  • An active Hostinger VPS with the Hermes Agent installed from the VPS Application Catalog.

  • The Hermes desktop app installed on your local computer.

Step 1 – Copy the VPS URL

  1. Log in to your Hostinger VPS dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Application Catalog and ensure Hermes Agent is deployed.

  3. Copy the URL address of your Hermes Agent dashboard.

Step 2 – Configure the Remote Gateway

  1. Open the Hermes desktop app on your computer.

  2. Navigate to SettingsGatewayRemote Gateway.

  3. Enter the remote URL you copied from your VPS into the input field.

  4. Click Save.

Step 3 – Restart the application

  1. Close the Hermes desktop app completely.

  2. Reopen the application to apply the new gateway settings.

Your Hermes desktop app is now connected to the remote backend running on your VPS. Your agent will remain active and accessible across multiple devices without requiring manual terminal configuration.

The Remote Gateway eliminates the need for manual file editing or complex terminal commands. Ensure your Hostinger VPS remains running to maintain an uninterrupted connection.
