How to transfer a .UK domain to Hostinger

Changing the IPS tag for .uk, .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domain transfers

Updated 2 weeks ago

While an EPP or authorization code is required for most domain transfers, .uk domain extensions follow a different process. To successfully transfer a .uk domain to Hostinger, you must update the domain’s IPS tag through your current registrar.

Before you start

  • Ensure the domain name is active.
  • Verify that you have full ownership of the domain name.
  • Ensure the domain will not expire during the transfer process.
  • Confirm you can request an IPS tag change from your current domain registrar.
  • Unlock your domain on your current registrar.

Step 1 – Initiate the Hostinger transfer order

To begin the process, you must first create a transfer request within your Hostinger account:

  1. Open the Hostinger domain transfer page:
    1. Transfer Domain on hPanel
    2.  or Hostinger Transfer Domain page if you don’t have a Hostinger account yet.
  2. Enter your domain name.
  3. Complete the payment for the transfer.
  4. Set up the domain transfer order.
  5. Choose whether to keep your current nameservers or use Hostinger nameservers.
  6. Open the confirmation email sent to your administrative address and click the provided link.

Step 2 – Change the IPS tag

After confirming the transfer via email, log in to the platform where you currently manage your domain and request an IPS tag change. Use the following value:

AXIDOMAINS

Once the IPS tag is updated, you can track the progress of your transfer in the Transfers section of your hPanel. Your domain will be ready to manage at Hostinger shortly.

NOTE

  • Country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) like .uk, .es, and .com.br are not renewed automatically as part of the transfer process and preserve the same expiration date as before the  transfer.
